Well guys. A bit of bad news. And good news. Not REALLY bad, but quite unfortunate. But some good will come out of it in the end. The bad news is that basically my feet are quite worthless for the time being. My hike today was WONDERFUL, and I got what I hope are amazing pictures that I can’t wait to show you all. Although I’m sure they won’t do it justice. But I tried to do some digital camera tricks like my SUPERzoom for the flowers… 🙂 I decided on a PRETTY hike since I not only can’t handle a challenge, but (in the case of emergency) I’m basically alone on this continent. But it was more of a hike than I was expecting… and no one in their right mind would have let me do that if they knew what I was getting myself into. But I took it quite slowly and was actually done by 3 today… so right around 6 hours once I got up to the trail head. But by the end of it… actually the last two hours it started RAINING. Imagine that. So I was quite scared going down such steep rocks, but everything ended up fine except that my feet are worthless now….

So THAT, and because it has rained two evenings in a row now…. I decided to cancle my reservation for my 3rd night in Interlaken and head to Munich in the morning to pick up my luggage. I will then get more time in Venice to visit all of the rest of the free museums I wanted to get to but never did. So that will be good.

I mean, I think it was a good decision. I got my money back, and besides … that ONE hike was well worth coming here for. The wildfowers on that hike I did were SO beautiful. And really, I can’t physically do another one without being physically miserable. And really what would I do here in the rain?? It was a good decision. Just unfortunate that it had to be made.

Yeah… my feet hurt sooo much. It’s ridiculous. I picked up some athletic tape and taped my ankle with the shin splints, but I’ve never taped an ankle before because I don’t think I’ve ever had shin splints… only heard of them. It helped quite a bit during my hike, but I’m sure I could have done a better job. But all of tomorrow will be spent on the train more or less cuz I’m headed back to Venice tomorrow night, so hopefully that will be enough recovery time to be able to walk around Venice again. Then Verona for the opera, and then home, guys. So let’s just hope that all my luggage is still safe in Munich.

5 days guys. See you soon! I call the green blanket. Hey mom, you wanna pick up some Mountain Dew? 🙂
